Your egg has found a home in your womb by attaching itself to the lining so that your baby can start growing
Your egg has now travelled to your womb where it has implanted into the lining. At this stage, your baby's brain, lungs, central nervous and intestinal systems are starting to form. This is called the embryonic phase, where all organs begin to develop, and will last until around week 10. Your placenta cells are digging into the womb lining to form a tunnel to the embryo to deliver nutrients and oxygen. The amniotic sac is filled with fluid and is ready to house your baby, which is currently no larger than a poppy seed.
You might start to feel symptoms similar to premenstrual syndrome, or PMS, like tiredness, moodiness, bloating and cramps. Don't be fooled, as these are also possible signs of early pregnancy. If you haven't already, you should start taking pregnancy multivitamins that contain at least 400 to 800mcg of folic acid.
