Mammobus®

The National Healthcare Group Diagnostics (NHGD)'s Mammobus®, a mobile mammography service, is equipped with a digital mammography machine. This allows mammogram images to be reviewed instantly, which can reduce the number of recalls arising from blurring issues. The Mammobus® brings the convenience of onsite mammogram screening to the community and workplace.

Mammobus® is the only MediSave-accredited mobile mammography service provider in Singapore.

Eligibility

Women aged 40 and above are encouraged to go for regular mammogram screening every year (aged 40-49)* or every 2 years (aged 50 and above).

*If you are in your 40s, please seek your doctor's advice on the benefits and limitations of going for a mammogram.

Procedure

What happens during mammogram?

  • Our staff will first ask the participant some questions about her medical history.
  • A female radiographer will perform the mammogram screening.
  • If the participant is pregnant or suspects that she is pregnant, she should inform the onsite radiographer before the screening.
  • During the procedure, the participant’s breasts will be compressed by plastic plates, which may be uncomfortable. The participant may inform the radiographer if she experiences any extreme discomfort.
  • The whole process takes about 15 minutes.
