What is this medication for?

Bimatoprost belongs to a class of medications called prostaglandin analogues, which is used to treat glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition where the nerve in the eye is damaged, and is usually associated with increased eye pressure. Untreated glaucoma can affect your eyesight and cause blindness. Bimatoprost lowers eye pressure by helping fluid drain out of your eye.

Bimatoprost may also be used for other indications as prescribed by your doctor.
