Claypot Vegetable Brown Rice
What you need
Brown rice * |
Seasoning |
Pumpkin, cut into cubes |
Vegetarian oyster sauce * |
Small carrot, cut into cubes |

Long beans, cut into bite-sized pieces |

How to cook this dish
- Heat a little oil in a frying pan and stir-fry garlic till fragrant.
- Add the stir-fried garlic, cubed ingredients, brown rice and seasoning into the rice cooker and mix well.
- Add in vegetable stock and switch on the rice cooker.
- Once the rice is cooked, garnish with spring onions and serve.
Food for thought:
Brown rice is an example of wholegrains. Wholegrains contain higher amounts of fibre, vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. When cooking brown rice, pre-soak them before cooking or add more water when cooking.

Chicken Soup With Glutinous Rice Shapes
What you need
Chicken, minced |
Chye Sim, cut into bite-sized pieces |
Small tomato, cut into cubes |
Chicken stock * |
Button mushrooms, cut into cubes |
Pepper |
Baby corn, cut into cubes |
Sesame oil * |
Marinade
Light soy sauce * |
Corn flour |

Glutinous rice flour |
Water |
Mix flour with water and knead it into soft dough. Shape the dough into small shapes/balls |

How to cook this dish
- Mix minced chicken with marinade and shape into shapes/balls. Keep aside.
- Boil chicken stock in pot.
- Add minced chicken balls, button mushrooms, baby corn, Chye Sim, tomatoes and glutinous rice shapes/balls. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat once rice shapes and chicken balls float to the surface.
- Season with pepper and sesame oil. Serve hot.

Tau Kwa |
Light soy sauce * |
Sweet corn kernels |
Dark soy sauce * |
