Mometasone Nasal Spray

What is this medication for?
This nasal spray contains the steroid Mometasone. It helps to reduce inflammation in the nasal cavity, thereby relieving symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, itchy nose, blocked nose or runny nose. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor.
How should I take or use this medication?
What should I do if I forget to take or use this medication?
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Then take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses to make up for the missed dose.
What precautions should I take when taking or using this medication?
Inform your doctor if you are:
- Allergic to this medication or some of its ingredients
- Pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
What are some common side effects of this medication?
- Headache
- Sneezing
- Nosebleed or irritation
- Sore throat
If side effects occur, they should improve over time. Please approach your doctor if they are bothering you or do not go away after a period of time.
What are some rare but serious side-effects that I need to seek medical advice immediately?
Symptoms of a drug allergy may include any of the following:
- Swollen face, eyes, lips or tongue
- Difficulty in breathing
- Itchy skin rashes
If you experience any of these symptoms, stop your medication and see your doctor immediately.
How should I store this medication?
Store in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep this medication away from children.
How do I throw away this medication safely?
Pack it in a trash bag and seal it tightly before throwing into the rubbish chute or bin.
When should i throw away this medication?
Once used, the expiry of the nasal spray depends on the brand you are using. Refer to individual packaging for discard date.
