Learn how to prepare our Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich!
Pita bread *, cut into halves | Teriyaki Seasoning |
Lettuce leaves |
Light soy sauce * |
Tomato |
Dark soy sauce * |
Chicken breast fillet (without skin), cut into 8 pieces |
Honey |
Oil |
Corn flour |
* Choose products with the Healthier Choice Symbol (HCS)
Cut chicken fillet into 8 pieces. Marinade chicken pieces with teriyaki seasoning and keep aside.
Heat a little oil in the frying pan and add chicken pieces. Pan-fry chicken pieces until golden brown on both sides.
Cut Pita bread into half and press the sides slightly to open the pocket.
Arrange the lettuce, tomato and chicken pieces. Serve.
Note: Pita bread can be replaced with wholemeal bread.
Use different types of breads to make the sandwich. This is a great way to introduce wholegrain breads such as wholemeal bread, wholemeal pita bread, and wholegrain breads into your child's diet. Wholegrain products contain higher amount of fibre, vitamin, minerals and anti-oxidants.
