What's Happening to Your Baby?

Well done! You're halfway through your pregnancy and you're doing well! Your baby's the size of a turnip, measuring 15 to 18cm from crown to rump, and weighing between 270 and 330g. If you're having a little lady, her womb is now formed.

What's Happening to You?

You should be scheduled for an ultrasound scan sometime this week. During this scan, your doctor will check the structural development of your baby as a precaution. You should have gained around 4.5kg by now and you can expect to put on 450g a week until the birth. Keep up your iron intake to generate healthy red blood cells. If you're having trouble sleeping with your ever-growing belly, try sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees. This will help straighten your spine and ease your back pain.
