Here's what you can do to prevent diabetic foot complications

Foot problems are common causes of chronic disabilities in patients with diabetes. Early identification and intervention of those at risk will prevent complications and reduce the number of amputations.

A team of registered assistant nurses at polyclinics are specially trained to perform diabetic foot screening. They are able to:

  • identify and screen foot problems of patients with diabetes.

  • reduce the risk of foot complications by providing education on proper foot care and good glycaemic control.

  • refer patients who are at risk to our podiatrists for early intervention.
