prepare for travels with items

1. Research your destination:

  • Identify places you should avoid
  • Note the types of food to avoid
  • Keep updated on the latest health advisories

2. Ensure that people back home can reach you while you're abroad:

  • E-register your trip with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so your loved ones can check in with them in the event of an emergency.
  • Give your loved ones a copy of your itinerary so they know where you are and how to contact you via your accommodation.

3. Prepare health cards for each of your family members:

  • These cards should contain vital health information such as blood type and allergies.
  • Carry them with you everywhere in case there's a need for immediate medical attention and there's a language barrier.

4. Pack a handy travel kit:

  • Include first aid items like plasters, commonly used medication, a thermometer, insect repellent and sunscreen.

5. Purchase travel insurance

  • Having adequate insurance coverage will help to minimise stress in the event of unforeseen circumstances like medical emergencies, injuries, or flight cancellations.
