travel preparations

3. Prepare health cards for each of your family members:

  • These cards should contain vital health information such as blood type and allergies.
  • Carry them with you everywhere in case there's a need for immediate medical attention and there's a language barrier.

4. Pack a handy travel kit:

  • When traveling with children, it's essential to be prepared for any health-related situations that may arise. Packing a small supply of essential medications is a prudent step. Include medications like pain relievers, fever reducers, antihistamines for allergies, and any prescription medications your child may need. Ensure these medications are alI in their original packaging with dosing instructions. Place the medications in your carry-on bag and declare if required by relevant authorities.
  • Other supplementary items to include that may be beneficial for your travels – plasters, a thermometer, insect repellent and sunscreen.

5. Purchase travel insurance

  • Having adequate insurance coverage will help to minimise stress in the event of unforeseen circumstances like medical emergencies, injuries, or flight cancellations.
