Hospice Home Care

If your loved one is homebound due to an advanced progressive disease like cancer, and expected to deteriorate within weeks or months, it’s time for hospice home care.

Hospice home care offers those with terminal illnesses or conditions a chance to spend the rest of their days at home instead of at a hospital.

An Introduction to Hospice Home Care

Seniors with advanced and progressive diseases, such as cancer, may choose to spend their days at home instead. In such cases, caregivers need help coping with the elderly patient’s needs.

Services Provided

The services provided include:

Psychosocial Support

Help for people to recover from emotional and social trauma, such as caregivers and the seniors going through this difficult period.

Caregiver Training

Teaching caregivers how to care for their loved ones, and the needs of a palliative care patient.

Palliative Care

Medical and nursing care.

How to Apply

Get a referral from a hospital, polyclinic or General Practitioner that the elderly patient visits. A doctor must say that the elderly person is suffering from an advanced and progressive disease.

What it Costs

The service can cost between $100 and $150 per visit before means-testing. The amount varies based on your household’s income.
