Learn how to prepare our Steamed Shanghai Dumpling
Chicken, minced | Seasoning |
Xiao Bai Chye, shredded | Light soy sauce * |
Carrot, shredded | Pepper |
Shanghai dumpling skin | Sesame oil * |
Water chestnuts (optional, can be diced and added to minced chicken) | Corn flour |
* Choose products with the Healthier Choice Symbol (HCS)
Mix shredded carrots, Xiao Bai Chye, minced chicken and seasoning evenly to form dumpling filling.
Wrap dumpling filling with Shanghai dumpling skin. Shape into dumplings.
Place dumplings into a steamer for about 15 minutes. Serve.
Steaming is a healthier cooking method which does not require any oil. Vitamins are also retained in the food. Deep frying uses a lot of oil and the oil is absorbed into the food when cooking, increasing the fat content in the food. Choose healthier cooking methods whenever possible.
