Pazopanib Tablet

Pazopanib is a medicine used in the treatment of Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma.

Dosage and ​​How to Use​

It is a tablet you take by mouth, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food. It should be taken whole with water and must not be broken or crushed. It should not be taken with grapefruit juice.

Miss​ed a Dose

If you miss a dose of Pazopanib, take it as soon as you can if it is within 12 hours of the missed dose. However, if it is over 12 hours since the missed dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your usual dosing times. Do not double dose.


Side Effects, Precautio​ns, Contraindication

What are the sid​e effects of Pazopanib?

  • Nausea can sometimes occur when you first start taking Pazopanib
  • Diarrhea and/or abdominal pain
  • Tiredness and lack of energy
  • Bleeding gum
  • Discolouration of skin and hair
  • High blood pressure
  • Your blood pressure should be monitored closely. Discuss a proper follow-up plan with your physician
  • Increased blood sugar level
  • Maintain a healthy low sugar diet and have routine blood sugar checks

Inform your doctor if any of the following occurs:

  • Allergic reactions – rashes, swelling, breathing difficulty
  • Rapid heartbeat or chest pain
  • Sudden onset of cough, chest pain or shortness of breath
  • Yellowing of the eyes or skin and severe abdominal pain
  • Signs of infection – fever or chills, cough, sore throat, pain or difficulty in urinating
  • Prolonged gum bleeding or bleeding on other parts of the body
  • Unusual weakness, tiredness or light-headedness
  • Severe diarrhea

What precautions should I​​ take while on Pazopanib?

  • Use effective birth control during treatment with Pazopanib.
  • Do not take medications and supplements without informing your physician and pharmacist.
  • Inform your physician or pharmacist if you have any other medical conditions (e.g. heart problems, high blood pressure, adrenal insufficiency)
  • To minimize your risk of getting infection, avoid going to crowded places or being near sick people.

Handling and Storage​​

Store Pazopanib tablets out of the reach of children, at room temperature, away from heat, light and moisture.
