Use your pessaries the right way

This article illustrates the right way to use your pessaries.

1	Wash your hands with soap and water before using the pessary.
2	Remove the wrapper from the pessary.
3	Lie down and insert the pessary, tapered end first, into the vagina. Push gently but firmly high into the vagina.
4	If two pessaries have been prescribed, do the same with the second one.
5	Wash your hands with water and soap after each insertion.
6	Continue using the pessary even during the menstrual period.
7	Avoid sexual intercourse during the period of treatment.
8	You may wish to wear a sanitary napkin to prevent this medication from staining your clothes.

Store this medicine correctly.
	Store in a cool, dry place. Some pessaries need to be stored in the refrigerator. Check the label for the correct storage condition.
	Do not keep different types of medicines together in one container. Keep each medicine separately in its original labelled container.
	Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
	Do not keep expired medicines or medicines that are no longer needed.
