Temozolomide is a drug that is used for the treatment of brain tumours.

Dosage and How to Use​​​

It is a capsule that you take by mouth. It can be taken one hour before food with a glass of water or juice.

Missed a D​​​ose

If you miss a dose of Temozolomide, take it as soon as you can if it is within 12 hours of the missed dose. If it is over 12 hours since your missed dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your usual dosing times. You should never take two doses at the same time.

Side Effects, Precautions, Contraindication​

What are the common side effects of Tem​ozolomide?

Temozolomide is usually well tolerated and serious side effects are rare.

Early Side Effects

  • Nausea and vomiting can sometimes occur
  • There are medications available which prevent or decrease these side effects. If you are given these medications, take them when necessary
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • ​Constipation

Delayed Side Effects

  • ​A drop in blood cell counts occur after treatments

Inform your doctor if any of the fol​​lowing occurs:

  • Fever of 38°C
  • Bruising or unusual bleeding
  • Skin rash, itching or redness
  • Difficulty in breathing

Handling and St​orage

Store Temozolomide tablets out of the reach of children, at room temperature, away from heat, light and moisture.
