Dosage and How to Use

This medication should be used on a regular schedule to get maximal benefits.

1. Unscrew the cover and lift it off.

2. Hold the inhaler upright with the coloured grip at the bottom. Load the inhaler with a dose by turning the grip as far as it will go in one direction, then turn it back to the original position. When you hear a 'click', the inhaler is ready for use. A total of 3 turns must be completed before using the inhaler for the very first time. This step need not be performed for subsequent inhalations.

3. Breathe out normally before placing the mouthpiece between your teeth.

4. Close your lips around the mouthpiece and form a tight seal. Do not chew or bite down hard on the mouthpiece. Inhale forcefully and deeply through your mouth.

5. Remove the inhaler. If your doctor has prescribed more than one dose, repeat steps 2 to 4.

6. Wipe the mouthpiece with a clean dry tissue and replace the cover.

7. Rinse your mouth with water.

The amount of medication delivered is very small. Even if the patient does not feel or taste it, he/she can be confident that the medication is received if instructions are followed.

If you accidentally drop, shake, or breathe out into the inhaler after it has been loaded, you will lose your dose. If this happens, you should load a new dose and inhale it.

Missed a Dose

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
